Qualification & Service Overview
London Elite Exams arranges AAT computer-based assessments for private and self-funding candidates across London. Whether you are taking foundation certificates or advanced diplomas, your assessment is scheduled at a centre approved by the Association of Accounting Technicians, with the registration handled by our examinations team.
Our modern partner exam centres are designed to help you focus. With reliable technology and a quiet atmosphere, you can tackle your accounting scenarios and tasks with complete concentration.
Booking your AAT assessment with us is simple and efficient. We offer regular testing windows and prompt administrative support to ensure your qualifications are processed quickly and accurately.
Where can you sit an AAT assessment?
AAT qualifications are assessed by computer-based assessment, run on PCs or laptops and administered by AAT approved training providers or assessment centres. If you study with a provider that hosts assessments, you sit them there. If you are self-studying, learning at a distance, or your provider does not host assessments, you need an external assessment venue — which is what we are.
AAT publishes a venue search for exactly this situation, and it is worth knowing that external venues may charge a sitting fee on top of what you have already paid AAT. Ask what a venue charges before you book, not after.
How AAT exam booking works
Two things have to be in place before a seat can be held. First, AAT student membership: you register with AAT, pay the annual fee and a one-off admin fee, and receive a membership number. Booking and sitting are not possible without it, and a centre cannot register you — that part is between you and AAT.
Second, availability. Tell us the unit and roughly when you want to sit it, and we confirm what is free before anything is paid. Self-studiers usually have flexibility on timing, which is an advantage: a seat that suits your preparation beats a seat that suits the calendar.
Which AAT levels can you book?
Every level, from the Level 2 bookkeeping and accounting units through Level 3 and up to the Level 4 professional diploma units. The unit assessments and the end-of-level synoptic assessments are all computer-based and all sat at an approved venue.
If you are unsure which unit you are entered for, check your AAT account rather than your course notes — unit codes changed between qualification suites, and preparing for a superseded version is a costly way to find out.
On the day
Bring photographic identification matching your AAT membership record. Assessments are sat on the venue's equipment under AAT's own security and invigilation rules, with scratch paper and any permitted materials issued by the invigilator rather than brought in.
Arrive with time to be registered without rushing. A candidate who cannot be identified against their AAT record is not admitted, and the fee is not returned.
AAT Exam Centres in London — your questions answered
Where can I find an AAT assessment centre near me?
AAT publishes an assessment venue search for candidates who cannot sit at their own training provider. We can arrange a seat at an external AAT-approved venue in London, so if you are self-studying or your provider does not host assessments, tell us the unit and we will confirm availability.
How do I book an AAT exam?
You need AAT student membership first, then a seat at an approved assessment venue. Membership is arranged directly with AAT — a centre cannot register you. Once you have your membership number, tell us the unit and the window you want and we will confirm what is free.
Do I need AAT student membership to sit an assessment?
Yes. Booking and sitting both require current student membership, which carries an annual fee and a one-off admin fee paid to AAT. It also gives you access to AAT study resources.
Are AAT assessments computer-based?
Yes, entirely. AAT qualifications are assessed by computer-based assessment, run on PCs or laptops at an approved venue. There are no written paper scripts to complete.
Can I sit an AAT assessment remotely?
AAT does offer remote invigilation, where you and your screen are recorded and reviewed by an invigilator. It suits some candidates and not others — remote sittings have strict requirements for your room, equipment and connection, and a failure on any of those ends the assessment.
Do external assessment venues charge extra?
Often, yes. AAT itself notes that external venues may charge to sit assessments, on top of what you have paid AAT for the qualification. Ask for the sitting fee up front so there is no surprise on booking.
When can I sit AAT assessments?
Far more flexibly than school exams. Assessments are scheduled by the venue rather than fixed to a national series, so the date is usually a question of availability rather than waiting for a window months away.
Do you provide AAT tuition?
No. We arrange the sitting; the approved venue invigilates it. Tuition is a separate service, and many of our AAT candidates study with an online provider or self-study and use us purely for the sitting.
