Exam Entry Deadlines 2027

Entries for the summer 2027 series close on 21 February 2027, months before the first paper on 10 May. Miss it and, for every subject except GCSE English Language and Maths, the next opportunity is a full year away.

What is the next exam deadline?

Entries close

today

Sunday, 4 October 2026

Closing date for November 2026 series entries. Centres set an earlier internal deadline so entries can be checked and submitted.

Register before it closes

Our deadline is earlier than the exam board's

An entry has to be checked against the right specification and tier and then submitted before the board's cut-off, not on it. Registering in the final week leaves no room to correct a mistake, and a mistake found after the deadline cannot be corrected at all. Treat the board dates below as the outer limit and come to us well before them.

Our booking cut-offs

Book by the standard date for the standard price. After it the late, then higher-late, then very-high-late prices apply until entries close. Cambridge International and Edexcel IGCSE have their own dates.

What happens after the deadline passes

Missing the closing date is not immediately fatal, but it gets more expensive in steps and then stops being possible altogether. There are three stages.

Standard

Up to 15 Feb 2027

Standard subject price applies.

Late

16 Feb – 15 Apr 2027

Late price applies — typically £50–£100 more per subject.

Very late

16 Apr – 1 May 2027

Very-late price applies, and the board may refuse some entries.

Past the final cut-off the entry rolls to the next series. For GCSE English Language and Maths that is November, a few months away. For everything else it is the following summer. See the full fee tables.

Exam deadlines, answered

When is the exam entry deadline for summer 2027?

21 February 2027 is the closing date for June 2027 entries across GCSE, AS and A-Level. Entries submitted from 22 February carry a late entry fee, and from 22 April they are classified as very late and cost more again.

When is the November 2026 GCSE resit deadline?

4 October 2026, with a late entry fee applying from 5 October. The autumn series covers GCSE English Language and Mathematics only — every other subject is summer entry.

Why is the centre's deadline earlier than the exam board's?

Because an entry has to be checked, matched to the right specification and tier, and submitted before the board's cut-off — not on it. A centre that accepted entries up to the board's own deadline would have no time to fix an error, and an error found afterwards cannot be corrected.

What happens if I miss the entry deadline?

Between our standard deadline and the late deadline you can still enter at the late price for the subject; between the late and very-late deadlines you pay the very-late price. Past the final cut-off no entry is possible at all, and the subject rolls to the next series — a full year for everything except GCSE English Language and Maths. The three prices for every subject are on the fees page.

When is the deadline for access arrangements?

21 March 2027 for applications to be processed for the June 2027 series, and 29 January 2027 for modified papers. Both fall well before the exams, and the specialist assessment they depend on has to exist before either.

When is the deadline to request a remark?

Review of results deadlines are set for each series and are short — priority reviews for candidates holding a university place close earliest of all. Ask us on results day itself rather than the following week.

When are results released in 2027?

A-Level results on 12 August 2027 and GCSE results on 19 August 2027, both from 08:00 to students. Centres receive them the day before.

Do GCSEs expire?

No. A GCSE or A-Level does not expire and does not need renewing. Some employers and courses ask for a qualification taken within a certain period — nursing and teaching routes sometimes do — but that is their requirement, not a limitation of the certificate.

Do not leave it to the deadline

Registering early costs nothing extra and removes the biggest risk to the whole plan.
